The book may look pretty and will appeal to bibliophiles but most medics want information and top quality advice and this book delivers hugely on this score. It is robust on factual knowledge and best practice and the editorial control is strong.
This book in effect is the 21st century equivalent of the old fashioned medical "tome" which used to inhabit our bookshelves. This edition is far more user friendly and then there is of course the associated website. Bundled with the website, there are other goodies such as a drugs resource which looks good, videos and case histories. You get a superb book which essentially is a detailed general medical textbook which would appeal to junior doctors taking exams or senior doctors wanting to stay up to date.
An interested medic, who wants an up to date general medical textbook which has a website, will enjoy using this package.

A doctors bible...It is an incredibly useful resource, it’s so detailed you may only feel the benefits of it from 3rd year and even in 3rd year it’s pretty comprehensive. Covering pretty much every disease I have heard of so far, it includes an array of less common infectious diseases all accompanied by appropriate clinical images, extensive treatment and pathology sections.
