This is an excellent book for anyone with an interest in sexual health, especially at the beginning of your career. It's very readable and coherently laid-out. The case histories and self-assesment make it a potentially useful learning and teaching tool[.] BMA Awards 2005
The text deals in detail with the most common conditions seen in GUM clinics...every chapter also has a PBL-style self-assessment questions at the end, with clear and succinct answers. The layout and presentation is clear, with well thought-out diagrams and flow-charts. Good use of colour makes it user friendly as does the fact that it is fully indexed . A novel inclusion in the chapter on anti-retroviral therapy are tables with photographs of every drug mentioned...you'll be able to recognise the drug when you eventually do come across it!
